Wire-Work for Newbies

Saturday September 19th, 2-4pm

Class Fee: $25

Class Level: Beginner
 

This brand new Zoom class is for brand new jewelry-makers who want to learn the basics of working with wire. Wire-working increases the possibilities for your jewelry-making exponentially! You'll learn how to make a P-shaped loop, a lollipop-shaped loop, a basic wire-wrapped loop, a spiral, a decorative head pin, an un-beaded chain link, a beaded chain link, a jump ring, a hook&eye clasp, and an ear wire. You will end the class by using your new skills to create a beaded bracelet and matching pair of earrings.

Crystal Carousel Necklace Zoom workshop

Saturday October 3rd, 10-4 pm

Kit Fee: $45 plus shipping

Crystal Carousel Necklace features a round structure with 3 pear shaped stones creating  the walls and a rivoli at the base. The neck chain is a long twisted Ndebele rope that does not require a clasp. The structure is embellished with 2mm round crystals-much like lights on a carousel. The length of the pendant piece is just over an inch and the diameter is just under an inch. The necklace is light in weight, making it easy to wear. Stitches include: Peyote, Ndebele, Twisted Ndebele and Right angle weave.

Trefoil Lavaliere

This delicate pendant features marquis shaped stones assembled into a Trefoil pattern. It is complimented with a fine chain.This is a fun project and can be finished in a few days. You will want to make other colors. These are fabulous gifts. The pendant is 1 1/2" long by 1 1/4" wide.

Khepri Necklace

Saturday & Sunday October 17th & 18th, 10-1 pm

Embrace the spirit of Ancient Egypt with this dramatic
pendant that uses a combination of stitches, including
Right Angle Weave and incorporates Czech glass beads
and sparkling Swarovski crystals.
The finished piece is hung on a Chenille beaded rope -
instructions for this are included but you can choose to
hang it on a a cord or chain if you prefer!
This project was inspired by the ancient Gods of Egypt and
represents creative cycles. Khepri was God of the rising
sun and was depicted often as a scarab holding aloft the
morning sun. He was seen as subordinate to the greater sun
god Ra. The Eye of Ra was a goddess and was an extension
of Ra’s power - she was his consort.

Wishes Necklace Zoom Workshop

This necklace features a new way to fashion a beaded bezel for a Swarovski Fancy Pear stone with Rivolis.This dazzling pendant is attached to a fabulous beaded necklace.The embellishing techniques used in the necklace can be used to make any necklace unique to your style.  Students will use common techniques but with my own beautiful twist: Unique technique for bezeling the Swarovski Fancy pear stone. Unique weave for creating the necklace parts.

Once in Paris Zoom Workshop

Saturday November 28th 10 - 4pm

It may be a real city but to many Paris is also something out of a fairytale, where any kind of miracle can happen. Each cab in this project will be unique and the elegant baroque-style embroidery, featuring Swarovski pearls and crystals, will complement each cab. In this class, students will learn different bead embroidery stitches, how to sew 2-hole Swarovski onto the base, how to bezel around a cab in the square stitch technique, how to make a bail in herringbone, and finishing and embellishing the edges of a pendant. Basic knowledge of herringbone and bead embroider required. Please note that the cabs in the picture are for sample only; I'll make new, unique cabs for each class, and each kit will be designed individually.

This extremely light weight, soft and wearable bracelet with a big Swarovski stone and two-color leather combo will surely become your new favorite piece of jewelry. The seed bead wave highlights the bright metallic leather in the center of the bracelet, and and the additional Swarovski bicones and sew on sequins add more character and dimension to this piece. Students will learn to work with leather, how to finish the edges of the leather bracelet without stitching and how to make ruffles in bead embroidered pieces.

The Guardian of Atlantis: Stringray

Basic knowledge of peyote and bead embroidery

This project was first in the Guardian series. The combination of leather, new cymbol beads, semi-precious stone beads and OOAK hand painted cabs makes this wrap-around bracelet fun to make and wear. It is easily adjustable to your desired wrist size. Students will learn basic embroidery, leather work, bezeling around a cabochon and how to work with Cymbal beads.

Beadwork & Metal: Meet in the Middle

In this workshop we will explore techniques that lend themselves to a variety of box shapes. Using seed beads and Delica beads, fine patina copper sheet, CZ's and pearls, tiny cup-chain, specialty findings along with embellishing and finishing materials, students will create their own souvenir box. Once the box body is underway, we will work on options for embellishing. This portion of the workshop will be really exciting, as there will be lots of samples to look at and plenty of materials to work with to create a one-of-a-kind souvenir box.  No Refunds
